Micro-Course 1 — Cultivating Presence

Core Module 3 · Mentalis Method™ — Pillar 3

Course Overview

Presence is a foundational capacity for psychological wellbeing, self-awareness, and authentic living. In this micro-course, we explore humanistic psychology’s understanding of presence and its role in fostering clarity, emotional balance, and meaningful engagement with life.

We begin by examining common barriers to presence, including chronic multitasking, emotional reactivity, and habitual negative thought patterns. You will learn how these obstacles interfere with awareness and contribute to stress, disconnection, and automatic behavior.

The course then introduces practical techniques to cultivate self-awareness and presence, including mindfulness meditation, breathwork, and body-based awareness practices. You will also explore emotional awareness and regulation, learning how emotions signal unmet needs and how conscious regulation supports psychological balance.

Finally, the course focuses on values and authentic living. You will examine the psychology of values, understand how misalignment creates inner tension, and learn how living in accordance with core beliefs reduces cognitive dissonance and supports a more coherent sense of self. By the end of this micro-course, you will have practical tools to cultivate presence, deepen self-awareness, and live more authentically.
